This is hardly breaking news (these demos came out last year, which — at this point in this year — is a long time ago), but this shit rips and you’re officially sleepin’ on KREMLIN if you haven’t checked ‘em out.
This is mid-to-fast Toronto hardcore driven by trash can d-beat drums (played by Ivan from SCHOOL JERKS) and a buzzy bass rumble, with reverby vocal outrage and clangy, crunchy guitar hooks riding on top, all packaged with a lo-fi-ish hit-it-and-quit-it kinda sound and feel. This demo’s some rad shit to get you psyched up to do other rad shit. The soundtrack to kids tearin’ it up everywhere.

I’m likin’ the hell outta this new DIRECT APPROACH demo tape. The SCHOOL JERKS/URBAN BLIGHT comparison seems pretty dead-on to me, so I’m not gonna tax my brain trying to come up with anything better.

In case any of you followers didn’t know (which is not at all likely) I play bass in a hardcore band. This is our new 4-song tape, recorded by our friend andy who plays guitar Total Trash. From the 5 billion listens I’ve given it, it sounds like the snottiness of School Jerks, with the recording quality and stompy bits of Urban Blight. So I’m pretty happy with it. Anyways if you wanna support DIY Toronto hardcore you know what to do.
